Welcome to St. Therese’s Community School’s website.
St. Therese’s Community School is a unique school set in a unique environment, situated just metres from the mighty Darling River in the quaint and beautiful town of Wilcannia. The school strives to provide an education for all students, taking into account their academic, social, emotional and spiritual needs.
The staff here at St. Therese’s Community School facilitate a learning environment to suit all students through their absolute professionalism, dedication and passion. We work together as a team to make sure the needs of every student are catered for through multi-faceted learning experiences.
At St. Therese’s, we are ‘Safe, Friendly, Learners’ and we focus on creating a positive environment where students feel comfortable to discover, play and learn.
St. Therese’s Community School has many exciting programs such as our Community Visits, Birthday Assemblies, Books in Homes, Nutrition and Dental Programs, Art Competitions and Sporting Events along with many more. These programs provide opportunities for families, the wider community and other organisations and services to become a part of our special school community.
We believe in the transformative capabilities of ICT integration in the curriculum. Students at St. Therese’s Community School are engaged in learning through the use of ICT in the classroom and the school is well resourced in this area with multiple iDevices, laptops, PCs, Interactive Whiteboards and appropriate software to enhance and deepen the learning experience.
A strong emphasis is placed on Literacy and Numeracy as well as our Paakantji Cultural Program and Religious Education Program, with The Gospel messages at the core of our teaching and learning.
Should you require any more information, please feel free to call or visit the school.
